I usually carry my DS around in a silly little (pink) purse thing that has a lot of storage room for extra games, in case I want to play something else. But since starting Puzzlequest this is the only game I need when I go out so I’ve ditched the purse. This is the perfect game to play in the car while my partner and I travel around doing errands or commuting to work, I usually turn off the volume (the audio is nothing notable from what I’ve heard) and can have conversations while I play a bit.

Plot Summary
Humanity is facing extinction at the end of the 20th Century for reasons yet to be fully known/understood to the reader. In 1969 a group of boys created a symbol for their friendship and played games of world dominantion and war…however…28 years later the symbol they created is appearing in seemingly random places. These symbols slowly start to string together dark dealings and mysterious deaths of alarming severity. The main character Kenji was a member of this group of boys. Kenji is now an adult and he long ago gave up on all his dreams and currently runs a convenience store with his mother, and watches his missing sister’s child. When Kenji’s old friend is reported to have committed suicide he begins to get involved in a real life version of the game he played as a child.

Plot Summary
The premise of this series is odd for a romance and it really added a nice flavor. The desired female (and apartment manager) of Maison Ikkoku is a 22 year old widow named Kyoko. She married against the wishes of her family to a man much older then she was right out of high school. Even now a few years after the death of her husband she refuses to move on and clings to the memory of her beloved. Godai (the main character) is a poor 20-year-old rōnin studying for his college entrance exams after failing in the past year. He is handsome but a bit of an pushover and lets others take advantage of him a bit too often. With this setup you can be sure that this series takes a long time before Kyoko begins to open up her heart to another man. The series takes place over a time period of about 5 years and during this time the main characters in Maison Ikkoku REALLY seemed to slowly but steadily change and mature.
Plot Summary
Shinichi is in high school and is already a renowned genuis detective. One day he takes his childhood friend (Ran) to the amusement park to celebrate her winning her Karate competition and a murder occurs on one of the rides. Shinichi solves the case in front of everyone but is suspicious of two men dressed in black with murderous eyes that also happened to be on the ride. Later he follows them and watches one of them involved in the middle of a dirty deal. However, the other man sneaks up from behind and knocks him out. Since they recognize him as the detective from before they attempt to dispose of him by giving him a new experimental poison that doesn’t leave any traces of the body. However, instead of dying Shinichi’s body is shrunk to the point where he looks like a kid. Shinichi plans to get close to those men and their organization so that he can get a sample of that poison to make an antidote. In order to do so he goes to live with Ran and her father disguised as a relative of one of their friends. Ran’s father is also a detective, and if Shinichi sticks close to him and improves his reputation there is a chance he may get a case that relates to those men and their organization. He has to keep his identity a secret because the organization will surely try to hunt him down and silence him.
I’ve been collecting (and occasionally selling) figures for almost 3 years now. Within my first two figure purchases I recognized the potential to PAY for your figure hobby while collecting. I was really into Inuyasha at one point and wanted some figures to reflect that new love. I found an auction for $35 that had at least 2 figures of each of the characters listed (there were 3 of Miroku). It was cheaper to buy that auction and get double what I wanted then it was to buy each one individually on eBay. I hate having extras but I bought it and stored the extras under my bed for a while. Then I sold each of the extras off one by one and before I knew it I had paid off my $35 purchase by just selling the doubles/triples and even made a small profit!
I knew that as soon as I decided to cut back on figures that someone somewhere was going to make a set that would really challenge my new resolution. I was actually expecting it to be one of my favorite figure manufacturers doing a Lucky Star set…but I guess that bomb is going to be saved for another day. Instead they hit me in my weakest of weak spots, ONE PIECE! The scum!

Summary
Luke is a rich noble that was kidnapped when he was a kid, he came back from his kidnapping with amnesia and still can’t remember his life before that point. Since then he had been isolated in the Fabre Mansion. However, he is also the center of a fateful prophecy, so of course that confinement doesn’t last long once the game starts. A woman named Tear breaks in and he is whisked away to be thrown into all the political dilemmas of the world.

That’s right just like OH SO MANY blogs that talk about anime/figures I’ve also ended up doing a blog post saying I’m saving up for a trip to Japan! I’ve been telling myself I’ll visit Japan since the 5th grade so I’m fully committed to saving up, this isn’t an idle promise. Life altering events withstanding I WILL go to Japan in 3-5 years! Starting next month I’ll have $50 subtracted from every paycheck into a separate account. If I happen to gain more money through bonuses and tax returns I’ll add in a portion from that into this fund too!
