On Order: Sherlock Shellingford

I first took notice of this cutie yesterday on Kumo’s blog, my decision to order her was immediate. I love a good mystery/detective series, and this character has an adorable detective look. I absolutely want her on my shelf, perhaps I’ll put her next to my Revoltech Professor Layton? It’s rare that I buy a nendoroid without having played the video game/seen the anime they belong to, but Holmes here is one of the exceptions. She seems to be from a video game called Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, and it recently had an anime. Even though I’m ordering this figure I doubt I’ll watch the anime, usually I like my mysteries to be about murder more-so than stolen kittens. For a random update I started playing Persona 4…

On Order: Black Gold Saw

I wasn’t expecting to already have the pre-order for the Animation Version of Black Gold Saw to pop up so soon. I was expecting the static pose version of the figure to be announced, followed by the animation version a few months later. Similar to how BRS and Dead Master were released. I REALLY like these figures, they have so much that I love in a figure that my collection is lacking. I mean sure my collection has lots of beautiful women wielding weapons, but none of the others look nearly as demonic and dark. They’ll have the darkest aura of everyone except perhaps my Art of War Guts figure…he wins in looking demonic and dark. I’m almost worried about watching the BRS anime and finding out that it doesn’t live up to my love of these character designs/poses just from the figures. There is a good chance I may skip it. Well anyway I didn’t even realize there was another character besides BRS and Dead Master until recently, Black Gold Saw has the body type I usually prefer in my figures.  My only complaint is that I wish her outfit wasn’t so similar to Black Rock Shooter’s, but there may be a plot reason for that. I’m not sure which of these three will be my favorite. But I have a feeling if they make any more BRS characters I won’t like them as much as these three…but we’ll see.

On Order: Nendoroid Takagi Akito and Mashiro Moritaka

Since I’ve already written about how much I like Bakuman, this pre-order probably comes as no surprise. Bt Nendoroid pre-orders have been a lot more rare for me these days. It seems like most of the characters being made into nendoroids lately are repeats of common characters, or a character I don’t know at all. When it comes to nendoroids I usually need to have some connection to the characters in order to want to pre-order them more-so than with regular scaled figures. With figures I’m easily overcome by beauty and don’t care that I have no idea who the character is. Also if you include these two pre-orders my last 5 nendoroid orders were all men (Takagi, Mashiro, Ciel, Sebastian, and Neuro). My last female was Yako (Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro). Well, I look forward to putting this duo next to my Light and L nendoroids.

On Order: Dizzy (Alter)

I thought about this pre-order for a while…it’s a character I don’t really know…but those are some fascinating and wonderfully detailed wings. I love figures with wings a lot, and Alter has my favorite quality when it comes to figures. I researched Dizzy‘s character a bit and she has an interesting story. I think in the end my interest in her story is what allowed me to comfortable pre-order her. But I doubt I’ll ever play the game series she is from, I don’t really care for fighting games all that much. Although I enjoy a lot of the characters that come from them. My figure collection is fairly conservative in their outfits (minus all the Yoko figures). Dizzy will be joining my small group of scantily clad ladies, and depending on what’s going on under that skirt thing she might be my most provocative figure yet.

On Order: Rin (Good Smile Company)

I used to collect almost every Fate: Stay/Night and Fate/hollow atraxia figure I could get my hands on. I loved how many lovely figures of Saber there were, but was disappointed with the lack of Rider and Rin figures. Since then more Rider figures were released…but Rin wasn’t getting as much love as she deserved. And now Rin is getting a figure that blows every Rider (and most Saber figures) right out of the water for me. The ONLY thing that would make me drool over this figure more is that if Archer were also in this figure the way he is in the original art. I would pay twice as much to have Archer on this base. As much as I enjoyed Emiya/Saber I preferred Archer/Rin as a team and I love the imagery of Rin behind his strong back and dual weapons.
