Another haul, actually my hauls have been too frequent lately, I almost maxed out my credit card. A lot of my orders were delayed, and suddenly all the delayed items came in! AND the items that were due to arrive this month all arrived on time! So it made for a very intense month, this was part of the reason why I decided I shouldn’t expand my collection so quickly. I’m a bit wiser now though and I have less pre-ordered these days, I admit I was stretching my “allowance” too thin to buy figures I really didn’t need. Ah…the love I feel for certain characters often blinds me when I hit that pre-order button! I’m also working on overcoming my urge to complete EVERY set of figures that I own one or two from.
I should note I don’t post these hauls to show off, I just personally LOVE posts where people post their newest goodies and I like to reciprocate that on my own blog. I’m doing to you, what I would want done to me! I always appreciate photos of awesome anime objects, even if they’re objects I’ve decided that I should not try to buy ($$$) like gorgeous Dollfie Dreams, Limited items, and Volks figures!
But I love everything in this haul and don’t regret any of these items, I’m practically doing back flips over getting the New Line Revy. I’ve always liked this Sephiroth figure, but the MSRP was way off from what I wanted to pay for it! Found it on sale for $42 and just had to get it, I laughed that I had to peel a $120 price tag off it. I do really like it and Sephiroth is a badass character…but no way am I paying that much for that scale and quality! Also I really like the Kotobukiya Yoko, I love the pose and scale. Not to mention the Asuka/Rei Maid set, Kotobukiya usually does great justice to the Evangelion duo. I’m putting up 4 new shelves this weekend and I plan on most of this haul going on them. I also bought extra supports to stop the bowing on my current shelves.
A bit unrelated BUT at the same time completely related since this is my portal to anime! Bought a Mitsubishi-60″ Class 1080p 120Hz DLP HDTV. Best Buy had/has a deal where you can buy a TV with no interest charged for 3 years if you qualify for the credit card. My bf and I decided to split the cost of this TV and make sure we’re done paying at the end of that 3 years so we don’t pay interest, we can achieve that by paying only $37 a month total between the two of us. Sharing such expensive objects between two people make them so affordable it’s insane. It also helps that the economy is currently a buyer’s market. We bought our first TV through a no interest 2 year program and finished paying it off a few months ago so I know we’ll be responsible with this too.
Having this as our new main TV means great things for me because now we own 2 TVs! It means that when I’m watching shoujo anime or playing video games and he wants to watch something else we can separate and each do what we want. He had been nudging me towards this TV for a while now, the final straw that pushed me to agree was when I was watching Lovely Complex and he laughed from behind his laptop at what I was watching. I get real embarassed when someone makes fun of the shoujo series I’m watching or reading, you might even call it one of my buttons.
On a side note for video games I’m real happy that I was able to buy Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 brand new on Amazon for $30! It was the last Shin Megami game that I didn’t own but wanted. I didn’t buy it before because people were asking a bit too much for the game for my tastes. But it seems Atlus printed more copies for Amazon like they did for Persona 2, Nocturne, and Digital Devil Saga 1.
EDIT:
Contents of haul are…
Yoko (Kotobukiya)
Konata/Kanata (Wave)
Revy (New Line)
Moka (GSC)
Zange-chan Nendoroid (GSC)
Toko (Alter)
Sephiroth (Square)
Black Widow (Kotobukiya)
Maid Asuka (Kotobukiya)
Cloud (Square)
Squall (Square)
and a Nagi cup

You didn’t tell us what your haul was made of.
You should fix that
Seems like you’re one of the people my “eBay Addiction” upcoming post will really speak to

Holy shit; Digital Devil Saga! It’s a fucking fantastic game; you’ll love
And I’m getting really jealous over your tv too! I’ve just got a little shitbox at home…guess I’m going to have to break into a neighbor’s house and steal theirs…

Digital Devil Saga looks sooooo scary. I looked at the back of it once and I was like are those- ack(gag reflex kicks in)
A lot of nice figures though. I was really disappointed with Moka though. She just didn’t look good at all to me. Same goes for the Wave Konata and Kanata.

I love your Haul pictures. They are very nice to read. Happy for you when you have a haul comes in. As for TV, I have 4 of them in the house. Just to make sure I can play PS3, xbox360 and Wii all at the same time while my wife is watching TV while surfing web …

Isn’t stealing the booty the ninja’s eternal rival’s task, the Pirate?

@ Guy – ADDED
Also yes I love eBay, been a member 8 years. Although these days I’m doing considerably more selling then buying.
@ Snark – I can’t believe I didn’t try Shin Megami Tensei sooner. I used to be SO into Final Fantasy that I didn’t care about the other RPGs out there. These past few years I’ve had a lot of fun trying all the amazing games I missed out on. I can honestly say that so far Persona 3: FES is one of the most enjoyable games of my life and I look forward to playing the rest of the series.
@ Gordan – My bf thinks Shin Megami Tensei is too dark after he saw my characters using their evokers, but I say NO! I love a game that has a dark twist in it! Lately I’ve been questioning whether I should continue collecting Wave Lucky Star figures. In the back of my head a voice is telling me a company I LOVE (like Alter of Max Factory) will probably be making way better and way more $$$ ones of them soon and I should save my money. This Moka is far better then the Shueisha one so I’m pretty happy with her.
@ Open – Glad you like haul posts too! I recently bought a net book for school, but I look forward to using it on the couch to look up all the random questions that pop up in my head as I watch stuff. My bf always has one in his lap but I hate pestering him to look up something “quick” for me. Usually it’s me looking up voice actors that sound familar.
@ Blue/Guy – A paradox has been created!!

Heh.
Ninja sneak in, pirates just barge in. Also, it’s booty! It’s the pirate’s turf
Thanks, I’ll prolly add you when I finish my links page, I do put there people I read, but for the record, it’s “Geekorner-Geekulture”
I need to win Persona 4 on eBay. Seems a friend of mine could have got me a copy for free if he knew I were interested a month or so back :-/

@ Guy – Changed your link, my link page looks pretty boring, I might have to collect banners. Persona 4 can still be bought Brand New with free shipping from Amazon. Although it’s at the full retail price of $39.99.

Maybe I will take the full price version, but if I buy something online anyway, I usually want a discount.
If I pay full MSRP, I want it to be convenient, offline, instant gratification.
I am unwilling to accept banners, too many of them and it looks cartoonish, and makes the non-banner people sad.
Personalize them, inform my readers.
What I do instead is add a little write-up on each link
After all, that’s what makes my blog stand apart – meaty opinions and lengthy posts.

@ Guy – Amazon owns my video game soul, I lover ordering from them
I’m debating doing descriptions…but I looked at my list and I admit there are a few where I’ll pretty much say the same thing as others.

No need for descriptions of items, just list which items you’ve got.
Curiousity, it burns!
BTW, that eBay sale mostly has pretty cheap prices, with less than 6 hours left, so you might want to keep an eye on it.
As for Amazon, if I lived in the USA, had free shipping, etc. then it might have owned mine as well. Alas, it was not meant to be.

Ah, the “Doing descriptions” was for the links page, not the haul.. sorry, brain no sleepy last night.
Well, saying the same things as others isn’t bad, assume people going to your Links page never heard of these people before, you need to sell them on the blogs you like.

That TV is pretty. I heard that digital devil saga is awesome, I actually saw a new copy of nocturne at my local video game store for 30 dollars but I did not get it because I’m finally playing persona 4.

@ guy – Ya I’ll probably update soon to have descriptions. There is a blog that is purely about Skip Beat! that I want to link to and I def want a description saying so next to it.
@ dan – I have a terrible habit of buying all the games I know I’ll like and then taking years to get around to playing them all to completion. Too many of my games take 80+hours to complete and I also watch lots of anime/manga.

Loot posts are always good. Some people don’t like them because they think you’re showing off, but most people enjoy reading what others are getting.
My wallet hates loot posts because it makes me want to buy every figure that I see in them. ^^;;

Compulsive buying, finger who slip on it’s own on “pre-order”… i knew that at the beginning of my collection.
