So I’m back from my vacation week!? What did I accomplish? NOT MUCH!! I had originally intended on sinking myself into mostly playing video games, but I didn’t touch a video game once over vacation! I found myself focusing more on anime/manga and random things I don’t usually do. In particular I found myself starting to re-read the Harry Potter books.
I saw the new Harry Potter movie on Saturday and I’ve never re-read the whole series at once so I thought I’d try it. The last book felt a bit like a let down the first time I read it and I was hoping maybe it will improve upon re-reading the whole series. Also speaking of Harry Potter, I almost died when I saw this Japanese girl interviewing Harry and Ron from the movies. When she touched Ron’s eye lashes and then smelled her finger tip it was almost too much for me! LOL even if you don’t like Harry Potter they’re pretty amusing to watch.
For manga I finished Her Majesty’s Dog and Crossroad…I also re-read Skip Beat! (again for at least the 5th time). Her Majesty’s Dog is a decent Shoujo with a bit of a supernatural twist, I really liked it and I’m glad that the people on my forums talked about this series so often because I probably would have skipped it otherwise. Crossroad was a bit of a love/hate experience for me, I LOVED certain aspects of the series and was utterly disappointed with others. Basically I really liked Sensei and how he and the heroine joked around, he made the series worthwhile. I disliked the “hero” of the story, he was a stupidly boring character. I also read a few stray single volumes of things like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei volume 2 and a few others I can’t think of right now.
For anime I finished K-On! and Candy Boy. I also started Fireball, Lovely Complex, and continued re-watching Lucky Star. Threw a few episodes of Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei in there too. I tried one episode of 07-Ghost and ran away after episode 1, I don’t think that’s a series that suits my tastes. I hate series where it seems like there are nothing but bishies interacting with one another. Although I do like the occasional reverse harem and love triangle shoujos that involve bishies, I need at least 1 female in my series if it isn’t Shonen/Seinen. I watched a bit of Fireball because that Figma of Drossel looks sweet, but I decided it was only worth the money to me if I really REALLY liked the skits…I only watched about 4 but so far I’m not in love. So no buuying a Drossel Figma for me, still a cool looking Figma though! I’m watching the anime Lovely Complex…I actually like the anime (still hate the manga though). The art style and the delivery of the humor from the series suits the story better animated then in the manga for me.
But what ended up happening the most was me watching marathons of regular TV shows. I watched many episodes of Spongebob, Say Yes to the Dress, Clean House, What Not to Wear, and various shows where we watch people flip houses for profit. I also caught up in The Tudors. I wouldn’t mind if The Tudors continued beyond Henry VIII’s death and on to the situation of Mary vs. Elizabth for the throne. I love watching the Tudors because I toured Hampton Court Palace for a whole day and it’s amazing to see all this happening in that same setting, they perfectly mimicked Hampton Court. It’s also cool to see all the tourist information that was poured into my head about the people involved with Hampton Court come to life in front of me (fictionally) in this series. Although I think I’ll end up liking Rome more, will start that series soon.
Well anyway this weekend I plan on doing at least one figure shoot right after I make myself a light box. I’ve really let the whole figure review aspect of my blog slide considering that was my main reason for starting a blog.

Lol at the HP video’s. She was funny when she went all hermit hunchback on the stairs. I have to many anime to worry about buying so I’m not watching on any of the japanese broadcasts. I did watch 3 episodes of k-on though and I don’t mind waiting for a US liscense.

@Duckie-chan: Ahh, lots of anime titles! Now that’s what I want to see, intriguing titles without giving too much away, lol. Congrats on “K-On” and whoa, while I’m still on the 2nd season “Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei”, it’s so brilliantly mind-frakking, lol.
But not as eye-popping as your last few comments to Mimi-chan, hehe. What would you say if I felt like making a “sign” for you too?

Oh god, Spongebob. I get forced to sit through hours of that when I visit my mom’s cuz my son gets access to back to back episodes of it lol. Never read a single Harry Potter book, and I avoided the movies for years until one boring weekend last year when I marathon’d the movies. It turned out more interesting than I made it out to be originally. I’ve been catching up on anime that I missed/dropped as well as keeping up with current shows. Candy Boy sounds interesting enough to me but I haven’t found it yet.

Bah I failed at doing a photo shoot this weekend! I bought all the materials for my light box though and have already cut the holes. I was working on measuring and cutting the strips of white paper to line the inside last night. But at least I finally hung all my wall scrolls and I watched a lot of Lovely Complex and watched the first 4 episodes of Dragonball Kai. OH I’m also all caught up in the One Piece anime! LOL @ Luffy ending up on Amazon island!
@ Gordan – I’m not so good at proactively watching what airs in Japan either. I usually end up watching those series at least 1 season (if not 2 or 3) after they’re done airing in Japan.
@ Jay – Dude I’d love a sign, I think they’re cute. Although I don’t think I could bring myself to make one myself with my face in the picture. Maybe just my hand in front to my favorite figure
I make the stupidest faces in pictures because I start getting anxious as I’m waiting for the camera to hurry up and take it. The only good pictures of me are ones where I don’t know my picture is being taken. That reminds me I should make sure to visit your blog after work, I think I’m behind by two posts! I can’t wait to see what anime you’ve seen this time. I plan on buying myself a laptop soon so I should be able to access your web site more often now. If I had a laptop I could visit blogs while watching anime on TV! Not to mention visit blogs in class when school starts up again
gonna get a cheapo one for $289 by Acer.
@ Persocom – I LOOOVE Spongebob, when nothing else is on it just ends up on the TV. I don’t understand why I can watch it so much myself. I found the first 2 Harry Potter movies unbearable, I was dying in my seat in the theaters. The 3rd wasn’t too bad and then I really liked all the most recent movies. Candy Boy is a super short series, I love series that are good/short/simple. It’s only 7 episodes and I think each inidividual episode might even be shorted then your average episode?

I haven’t watched any anime yet.
I should get on once I get hypnotherapy. 8D
And yay! You read manga. It’s hard to find anyone who likes manga these days.

@ Nega – I’m obsessed with manga, I absolutely love it. I fell in love with anime first but manga is what really stole my heart, probably because there are so many more awesome stories that can be experienced if you read manga. Or stories that were messed up in the anime are told more completely in the manga.

OMG I totally agree with the silly Harry Potter thing lol! Have you seen the video where Daniel Radcliffe goes to a Japanese school and there’s girls everywhere shrieking and crying? lol! Priceless.
And wow, you watched a lot! I usually go at about half that pace with anime and regular TV shows…plus my vision is failing me lol. Oh well. Hope you had a great vacation! ^^

@Duckie-chan: Haha, so just hold a hand in front of part of your face! That should be cool, right? Awww, 2 posts ain’t so bad, I forgive you. Don’t know if you’ll get a kick outta them, or if you’ll kick *me*! So we’ll see! Heyyy, cool, good luck on your future laptop. But hopefully, not too cheapo… P.S. Shoot me an email to remind me to do a sign then. Otherwise, I might forget… again.
